FAQs

How long will it take to get an appointment?

I will try to see you as soon as you would like. Availability can be discussed when you contact me.

How long does counselling take?

There is no set answer for this. Some people want to deal with a specific issue only and we can agree on a fixed number of sessions for this, usually between 8 – 12.

Other people prefer open ended counselling. This means we can work at a deeper level to explore what is troubling you. Periodically, we will review how counselling is helping and if further sessions are required.

Clients starting on a fixed number of sessions will have the opportunity to continue for longer if they want to.

How do I pay?

You can pay  weekly after each session or be invoiced monthly.

I accept cash, cheque or bank transfers.

How long will it take for me to feel better?

This is a common question and one I wish I could answer! ¬†There are so many factors to consider such as what the problems are and how much you feel able to explore them. It’s important to remember that counselling is a journey, as we work through past experiences and current difficulties. Overall, you will start to feel better and more positive but there will also times when difficult feelings may be experienced.

What if we decide to seperate as a couple?

Sometimes relationships end. I can help you to work through this process so that you can move forward as individuals in a more positive way.

Will everything I say be kept confidential?

I am committed to maintaining confidentiality and adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework.
